The Best Bakeries in Bristol (in our opinion)

Crumbs! We have some great bakeries in Bristol, don’t we? In fact, we’re spoilt for choice. If you ‘knead’ any help choosing, allow us to point you in the right direction. It’s the ‘yeast’ we can do!

Harts
Harts is a wonderful artisan bakery specialising in sourdough, handmade pastries, seasonal cakes and savouries. Oh yes, they do a pretty good coffee too! But what makes it even better is that they’re a croissant’s throw from DeskLodge House, over at one of the railway arches at Temple Meads! Pop in and say hello.

East Bristol Bakery
These bread connoisseurs believe in using only the finest ingredients. And it shows. The East Bristol Bakery’s range of delicious bread, pastries and cake is the best thing since sliced… Well, you know. And the good news is that you’re never far from one. They’re located in Easton, Old Market and Wapping Wharf. Plus they pop up at DeskLodge House twice a month on the 2nd and last Tuesday, in collaboration with Brockley Stores.

Papadeli

Based in Clifton, just off Whiteladies Road, Papadeli’s cake counter is the stuff of legend. You’ll need your strongest self-control if you’re going to resist the temptation of New York cheesecake, salted caramel and banana cake, rocky road, or brownie. Of course, you could off-set these sweet treats with an equally scrumptious selection of savoury snacks. Sorted!

Ahh Toots

Fancy a bakery experience that’s utterly unique? Take a little trip down to St Nicholas Market and lose yourself at Ahh Toots. Sausage rolls, daily specials, ice creams, afternoon teas… All served with a healthy dollop of individuality. Whether it’s the yummy food, vintage furniture, or the non-matching china, you’ll no doubt fall in love with it before your first mouthful.

Mark’s Bread

If it’s bread you’re after, then the name says it all. All the sourdough you could wish for, along with white bloomers, white tin, wholemeal tin, baguettes… If it’s in any way bread, then it’s being baked right here. Add to this pastries, cakes and sandwiches and you’ve just found your new favourite place in the world.
