We caught up with DeskLodge hotdesker Megan Gibson-Jones. She runs the supercool and ingenious Seed to Oak company, helping leaders overcome challenges and find the right headspace to achieve growth and success.
It’s a really interesting topic. Find out all about it, along with what motivates her.
Seed to Oak exists to enable leaders to find the headspace they need to achieve growth and make the most out of their teams, via coaching, consulting and mentoring services. All too often, management are distracted by the day-to-day business, which makes finding time to develop, action and monitor strategic projects difficult. Sometimes they don’t quite know the forward steps to take (e.g. if entering new markets or geographies), and sometimes they do, but barriers stop them from progressing. Seed to Oak provide experience, resource and energy to support management teams in overcoming these barriers, so they can see the wood from the trees, focus on the important and realise their ambitions.
Our clients growth journeys. Whether it’s seeing a 1-2-1 coach become more confident in asserting themselves and in turn feeling more able to go for it (whether it is), or see a corporate implementing work we’ve developed together and realising the positive results, I’m excited to be a part of all of them.
Mixing up my environment, sitting still for too long is not the one for me – that’s why when I’m not visiting clients I enjoy DeskLodge, I can go from Wonderland to a hobbit hole in 2 minutes. I’ll also work in 20-30 minute blasts, focusing on small tasks in order to get through computer heavy days.

Let people do what they are good at… I spent the first year of business trying to do everything myself, from marketing, content creation, building the website, designing the logo through to accounting and client delivery. Accepting that I didn’t need to do all the things and bringing in team members who do the majority of those things better than I can enabled me to focus on the areas I add the most value – to our clients.
I’m co-leader of Run Talk Run, a peer support mental health run group. We offer a non-judgemental space to come walk, run or ploddle, every Wednesday 6.30pm from Desklodge. Come find us @runtalkrunbristol on Instagram. Apart from that I make a lot of Spotify playlists and go to about a gig a week.
