DeskLodge: The Innovative Coworking Space Supporting Charities and Giving Back to the Community

If you regularly use DeskLodge, then we have two words for you: Thank you.

Just two little words. But we really, really mean them. Because by coming to DeskLodge you’re helping us support others. Charities who might need a hand, for example. Or worthwhile community groups looking for somewhere they can meet up for free.

You see, right from the beginning one of the aims of our leadership team was to give back as much as they could. And that’s exactly what we’re doing – with your help.

We’ve hosted loads of charity events, from nationally recognised charity days like Comic Relief and Children In Need, to local charities, such as Caring in Bristol. And the best bit? All of these charities were recommended to us by our members, because they mean something to them. It makes everything we do so much more personal.

We also set up a ‘Charity of the Month’ database at the start of 2023, so we can direct our resources to places that are important to our members. And we offer discounted charity rates for registered charities who are looking to book a space with us, as well as discounts for the NHS.

Community groups are well and truly on our radar too. In the last 12 months we’ve joined forces with Enterprise Nation to host small business meetups at DeskLodge locations, as well as Bristol Girl to put on their talks for people working in a mixture of different industries. Plus we’ve helped Rules of Engagement, with their marketing meetups. This is in addition to being the home for RunTalkRun, a local running/mental health support group, Women’s Tech Hub, and CodeHub, which encourage people to get involved with technology. Busy busy busy!

We also work with Redcliffe & Temple BID on community events such as local flower planting in public spaces. And we co-sponsored a unicorn sculpture with them as part of the ‘Unicorn Trail’ 2023, which was located at the front of DeskLodge House. Oh yes, and we then bought the unicorn back at the charity auction.

So, again, THANK YOU. Every time you book a meeting room, try a bit of hot desking, or just hang out in the kitchen, you’re doing your bit to support hundreds of local people who need it.

It’s nice to be nice, isn’t it? And by the way, if you have any ideas of who we could support next, we’re all ears.
