What does MPC do?
We use the built environment as a catalyst for positive change,addressing inequalities in society.
What is the best thing about your job?
The flexibility it allows me. Although we have a base at the wonderful DeskLodgewe can use as little or as much as we want, if I wanted to spend a week at myparents in Somerset, I’ll catch that train. A week in Florence to get away fromit all? I’ll take my laptop! Fully remote means less commuting time, andultimately more freedom.
How do you stay motivated and productive?
Good question! That’s been hard the last two years, but constantlychecking in with colleagues, taking screen breaks to grab a coffee and a natterwith whoever is at the front desk at Desklodge.
Where is your favourite place to work at DeskLodge?
How to pick! We luckily have an office on the 1st floor which is perfectfor collaborative working, but my all-time favourite is when I have a long meeting,I sit in the big comfy armchair at the back of the third floor, grab a massiveexcellent coffee, and get settled in. The third floor area isbrilliant for meeting new people, it’s so nice to be able to have people togreet in the morning and ask how someone’s lunch is!
What's the most valuablepiece of advice you've been given in work/business?
Invest and listen to your employees. Without people there wouldn’t be abusiness, and I think that can get forgotten sometimes.
What do you do in your spare time?
Volunteer for local charities, drink wine, cook food! I’ve mastered dimsum. Come find me and ask for my recipe!
