Picocom produce semiconductors (silicon) components for the wireless telecoms industry. To do this, they need a dedicated and safe environment where they can test what they make. That’s why they came to DeskLodge. We asked Keith Nethercott, a Picocom Digital Engineer, to fill us in with the details.

How has 2021 been for Picocom?

2021 has been a defining year for Picocom as we have received our first silicon devices. While there has been a lot of effort over the past few years to produce silicon, having a tangible product that a potential customer can touch and see is a huge milestone.

So you have a new shiny lab in DeskLodge. Tell us more about it?

We created the lab to be able to test our components in a safe environment. The lab is fully ESD protected and is kitted out with all the latest equipment to allow us to test our products; e.g. soldering rework stations to high-speed oscilloscopes. See more here

What are your plans for 2022?

For 2022 we are looking to deliver our products to customers. We will be focussing on supporting our customers, guiding them on the best methods for implementing our products and helping them resolve any issues they may encounter.

What’s been the best thing about working from DeskLodge this year?

This is my first experience of a DeskLodge environment, and I find it wonderful to be greeted with a smile in the morning when I walk through the door. I found the staff at DeskLodge to be extremely accommodating, especially when we were developing the lab, from allowing us to fit ESD flooring to helping with the network arrangements, it is a first-class service.

Describe YOUR DeskLodge in 3 words?

Quirky - The individually themed meeting rooms and spaces I find very diverse and quirky.

Happy - Happy smiley people everywhere; easy to talk to; pleasant greetings from all staff.

Community - DeskLodge encourages a great community spirit amongst its different businesses with breakfast mornings, evening drinks and a running club.
