What makes Bristol such an incredible place to live and a city to completely fall in love with is the amazing sense of community, the unassuming kindness and the huge buzz of independent shops, restaurants, bars & cafes that reside here.
In times of uncertainty we need to come together and support the places that make this city what it is and the place we’re all proud to call home.
Shopping independent has never been more important and with this in mind, the team at DeskLodge have pulled together a few of our favourite businesses that are offering delivery services and take out options for those self-isolating or, quite simply, feel more comfortable at home.
Good Sixty
Firstly, Good Sixty (our wonderful residents) are a delivery service stocking a whole host of independent retailers and artisan producers from Two Belly and Reg the Veg to the East Bristol Bakery.
Get fresh produce from your local high street straight to your door, all delivered by eco bike.
Kask
The lovely guys at Kask are making delivery happen, even for those without a BS3 postcode. Enjoy a cheeky glass (or bottle ) of “WTF’s happening hun Rose” with a cheese accompaniment for the ultimate night in.
Eatchu
The extremely popular Eatchu have announced a home delivery service, for not only hot meals but a frozen gyoza delivery too. Delicious!
Snobby’s
Snobby’s in Clifton have created a delivery menu for Pizza’s, Arancini, meat platters & more. Combat your cravings and place your order for delivery or collection.
Ahhtoots
Struggling on how to entertain the kids? Ahhtoots have created a “DIY Isolation Savers Kit” for you to bake at home. Such a fantastic idea! Available on pre-order for collection.
LHG
The team at LHG are happy to cycle to you. Head on over to their website, grab your favourite beers and have a little knees-up in your living room. They are also offering a discount on take-away cans, winner!
25a Old Market
25a Old Market have a whole host of tasty treats for you to take away. From the likes of Pinkmans, Good Chemistry Brewing, Triple Co Roast and many more.
Psychopomp
Psychopomp have got real creative and are making hand sanitisers for collection, take a container and make a cash donation of however much you can to The Grand Appeal, you may as well by a bottle of gin whilst you’re there.
Heartfelt Vintage
Looking for a last-minute Mother’s Day gift? Heartfelt Vintage are offering their Afternoon Tea experiences on take-out and delivery.
Bravas
Self-isolation doesn’t mean date night has to be off the cards. The guys over at Bravas are offering a tapas + wine bundle for collection. They’re also supporting the “Buy One, Feed One” NHS Campaign, so with every menu for 2 that you buy, a meal will be donated to an NHS worker or volunteer.
These are just a small handful of places and a lot of them are offering discounts to all NHS workers (big up!) too.
Don’t forget you can always support your most loved independents by purchasing gift vouchers instead.
Check out the Indie Kitty project from Wriggle and this incredibly helpful blog post pulled together by Natalie Brereton which contains a huge list of restaurants and the services their offering.
Let’s stay positive, stay kind and support one another through this craziness. Big love x
