I initially fell into recruitment after being made redundant from a sales role. It wasn’t a career path I had planned, but I quickly discovered that I enjoyed connecting people with the right opportunities and helping businesses grow by finding the talent they need. Now, I specialise in EV charging recruitment because it’s an industry that’s not just growing rapidly but also plays a critical role with net-zero targets and green initiatives.
The most surprising part of my job is how much of an impact recruitment can have beyond simply filling roles. It’s not just about matching candidates to jobs; it’s about helping businesses grow, shaping career paths, and even contributing to larger societal goals. For example, in EV charging recruitment, I’m constantly amazed by the sheer pace of innovation and how quickly the industry is evolving to meet sustainability goals. Seeing how the roles I help fill play a direct part in building infrastructure for a greener future is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a reminder of how interconnected recruitment is with progress and positive change.
My career path is focused on continuing to grow as a specialist in recruitment, particularly within the EV charging and broader renewables sectors. I aim to develop and lead my own teams, building out a dedicated function that focuses on supporting businesses driving the green transition.
