Sit up straight, pay attention, and no talking at the back… This month we celebrate wonderful Wendy Woodsford from Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT). The trust has an inspiring vision: to see excellent science teaching in every primary classroom in the UK. And we’re sooo proud that we can play a small part by delivering office space and meeting rooms on a hybrid basis.
I like the idea of making a difference – the PSTT’s vision is to see excellent science teaching in every primary classroom in the UK. Science literacy influences our lives, good science teaching in primary schools is of vital importance to the wellbeing of children, communities, and nations.
My job is full of surprises, no two days are the same.
To find the best way(s) possible to support the PSTT, our team and our stakeholders.
The PSTT’s strategic objectives are:
1. Strengthen primary science teaching and leadership in our priority areas, by helping schools identify and implement the approaches that best meet their needs.
2. Ensure our CPD, resources and other activities meet the needs of the wider teaching population, increasing the number of confident and competent science practitioners.
3. Embed high-quality science content, approaches and experiences in Initial Teacher Education and early career teaching – especially in our priority areas.
4. Strengthen PSTT’s position as a widely respected voice for primary science.
And we will be guided by this ethos:
• Science teaching and learning should be equitable and inclusive and practise equality and diversity.
• We are a learning organisation – robust monitoring and evaluation, learning from research, celebrating good practice.
• We can only achieve our vision when we work with others.
• Our work links to the big picture – the education landscape, workforce skills, social inequities and global challenges.
The team are so friendly and helpful; nothing is ever too big to ask. It’s extremely helpful having the managed office space, as well as the range of meeting rooms available. Our team is located across the UK, so having the ability to scale up and down is invaluable.
