Clever idea, but not as clever as Deborah and her team - they provide tax and succession advice to all kinds of global clients! What do you/your company do?
Birketts is a top 50 law firm . The team in Bristol are officially part of the London office but as we live in Bristol and surrounds, we have a “Hub” in Desklodge House which we use on our non-London days. I am a partner in the firm, and head up a team of 8 that specialise in providing tax and succession advice to international clients. Very glamorous!
What is the best thing about your job?
We are lucky that our job involves quite a lot of travel to far flung places so I really enjoy the mix of being abroad, in London and Bristol. It is very exciting to see how our practice is growing and I also really enjoy seeing the members of my team flourishing and achieving their own goals.
How do you stay motivated and productive?
I focus on the outcomes of the hard work – happy clients and team.
Where is your favourite place to work at DeskLodge?
In our little private office on the first floor (after stopping off for coffee on the ground floor!)
What's the most valuable piece of advice you've been given in work/business?
Simple….. Be Yourself!
What do you do in your spare time?
I honestly don’t have very much spare time as the weeks are full-on with work and the weekends involve catching up on housework and driving my sons around to various fun events (for them). However, I do enjoy watching rugby (Wales first, Bristol Bears second), walking my massive Labrador puppy and eating /drinking with my friends.
