Inaugural WTF Meeting

This will be the first of a quarterly meetup hoping to inspire and support women led, Tech related start ups. As its the first meet up this one will hopefully introduce us to some women led businesses in the region, women looking to start something in the future, tech women looking to return into tech by getting involved in women led start ups - or anything similar.
It should allow us to get to know one another, our interests and needs in order to help us start or continue to succeed with a good, related, peer support network.
Future meetups will include other groups such as investors, business analysts, accountants etc.

Looking forward to meeting you all and seeing some exciting ideas flourish into great businesses.

Before you can engage employees, you must really understand them

How to understand and engage employees, from a psychological point of view

This is a joint event, run by the Bristol Media People Forum and Engage for Success.

Increasing numbers of businesses now view employee engagement as an important source of competitive advantage, in the quest for improved levels of business productivity.

Sometimes, such businesses limit their efforts to superficial solutions – a ping pong table for the office space perhaps?

Alternatively, they may take a more mechanistic approach – our employees would be more engaged, if only they would follow the process!

Our view is that to engage employees (who are also known as human beings, with hopes, fears, values and personality attributes) you need first to really understand them.

Ever thought about getting a business coach? Here’s why now is the time to do it.

Business West are currently offering grants towards covering the cost of a business coach to help growth oriented businesses take the plunge. If you’re still not sure, we will be running free one-to-one sessions on Wednesday 22 November to run through your business goals and identify whether this grant scheme could work for you.
