Desk well-being talk with Amy Newton

Amy runs The Warrior Programme, which is a way of exercising and eating to feel strong, fit and capable, without spending all hours at the gym and ‘eating clean’.

Amy used to spend 8+ hours at a desk working for a big corporate insurance broker, and so she specialises in helping desk-based individuals, like yourselves, who struggle to find the time and motivation to exercise, but want to feel strong and fit.

With the recent (fairly dramatic) announcement that sitting is the new smoking and the inclusion of sitting down too much on the World Health Organisation’s top four worries, next to Coronary Heart Disease, Amy is coming in to talk to you all about staying fit and well whilst being at your desk.

She’s going to be giving practical advice on what you can do, rather than what you shouldn’t do, to make it easy for you to stay well, fit and avoid aches and pains, without an enormous amount of effort.

Please kindly let us know if you’d like to come along by just replying to this email or sending a quick note to amy@amynewtonpersonaltrainer.co.uk.

Look forward to seeing you!

Womens Tech Hub - Intro to A.I

The growing demand for Data Scientists & Machine Learning Engineers in the UK and worldwide is not going to go away and this is definitely an interesting career area to explore. Women’s Tech Hub is about to run a course which is a great opportunity to learn more about Machine Learning, with six fortnightly sessions led by expert Chew-Yean Yam, starting in February. Covering fundamental concepts of Machine Learning (which backs AI applications) to building AI projects, the course will be based on open source tools (Python) and materials. Thanks to Chew-Yean’s generosity and support from desklodge this course is a ridiculously reasonable cost of £95 for all six sessions, with all profits going to support Women’s Tech Hub.

Spaces are very limited contact info@wthub.org
